We’re looking for enthusiastic new members to join the Penticton and Area Cycling Association (PACA) team! Whether you love road cycling, mountain biking, or cruising around town, PACA is all about growing the local cycling community, keeping trails awesome, and making biking safer and more fun for everyone.
Our volunteer Board of Directors helps make it all happen by planning events, advocating for better bike infrastructure, and managing club operations and programming. As a Board member, you’ll dedicate 5-10 hours a month to your responsibilities and activities, and attending a monthly Board meeting. Best of all, you’ll make a difference to our awesome cycling community with your voice and talents.

Secretary
Role Description:
Maintains organizational records, prepares meeting agendas, takes and distributes minutes, and manages correspondence. Supports the board by ensuring documentation is accurate and accessible.

Vice President
Role Description:
Supports the President, assumes leadership in their absence, and assists with strategic planning and key initiatives. Acts as a liaison between committees and provides oversight for major projects.

Programming/Events Director
Role Description:
Plans and manages PACA’s cycling events, workshops, and programs. Oversees event logistics, volunteers, and partnerships to ensure successful, engaging experiences for members and the community.

Social Media Coordinator
Role Description:
Manages PACA’s social media presence, creating content to promote events, advocacy initiatives, and membership growth. Engages with followers, monitors trends, and maintains a positive public image for the organization.
Key Skills:
- Content creation and graphic design (Canva, video editing such as CapCut or Adobe Rush)
- Social media platform management (Facebook, Instagram)
- Writing and storytelling
- Data analysis for engagement metrics
- Creativity and time management
Membership Coordinator
The Membership Coordinator works with the Communications and Engagement Director. The Coordinator is responsible for growing, engaging and supporting PACA’s membership. This role includes managing the membership database, answering member emails, creating outreach initiatives, and enhancing membership benefits and experience to foster a strong and connected cycling community. Time commitment: 1-2 hours/week
Key Skills:
- Communication and Outreach: Ability to connect with members and promote membership benefits through newsletters, emails, and social media.
- Data Management: Proficiency with membership databases and tools to track and analyze member engagement.
- Marketing and Recruitment: Creative thinking to develop campaigns that attract new members and retain existing ones.
- Customer Service: Friendly and responsive to member inquiries and feedback.
- Organizational Skills: Efficient in managing renewals, coordinating member events, and ensuring smooth onboarding for new members.
